Collagen is an injectable filler made from cow protein and is
used to fill or plump wrinkles or furrows.
Popular places to inject include the lines
between the eyebrows, lines between the nose and lips (nasolabial
folds), lines to the side of the mouth, and lines around the
lips.
It is done as an in-office procedure, and does
not require anesthesia.
Recovery is usually one day.
Keep in mind:
Collagen is temporary (3-4 months), therefore, repeated treatments
are needed. Also, a test dose is required for first time users
to determine the possibility of an allergic reaction.

Collagen is produced
in the sclera. Older tissue is constantly replaced by new tissue.
As the skin ages, the production of new tissue is diminished.
The skin’s own inventory of collagen begins to shrink.
